Reading an annual report or 10-K form only gives you half the picture of a company's performance.

Annual revenue growth of +20%? Sounds great... until you discover that their competitors are growing by +50% annually.

Understanding a company's financial performance relative to its peer group is also important as this is an important lens through which senior management at that company will assess strategic priorities and investment decisions.

To see how your account is performing versus competitors:

  1. Search for your account

  2. Click on Competitors in the navigation bar

Next, click on the Metrics button

You can now see the financial performance for the competitor group across key metrics:

The following metrics are covered:

  • Total shareholder return

  • Revenue

  • Revenue growth

  • Profit

  • Profitability

  • Selling, general and administrative costs (SG&A) as a percentage of revenue

  • Gross margin
